GVAA vice president reports full registration, flags contract breach by Mid Maryland camp

Becky Hackett, identified in the meeting as GVAA vice president, reported that registrations are high across football, flag, soccer and baseball programs and that partnerships with Walkersville had been successful. She said Gary Barrett will take over as the new football commissioner and that camps generally went well, with some funds returned to field maintenance and prizes for participants.
Hackett then raised a contract compliance issue: she said Mid Maryland's camp did not repair the mounds or the batter's box as contractually requested. "They did not repair the mounds or the batter's box ... I reached out to the person that brought the form to use, and that was Alan Haynes ... they were not going to do that. So I'm going to take that as a breach of the contract," Hackett said. Board members discussed discontinuing that specific partnership and noted that a proposal to extend the Field 5 (Legion) dugout by about 12 feet would need planning and burgess/commissioners review if pursued.
