The Millsap ISD Board of Trustees voted to set a public hearing on the district’s proposed 2025–26 budget and tax rate for Monday, Aug. 25 at 6:30 p.m. The motion to set the hearing was made by Daniele Clark and seconded by Ryan Shands; the motion carried 6–0.
Board President Lori Beth Adkins certified at roll call that the meeting notice complied with the provisions of Texas Government Code Section 551.041 (Subchapter C) and confirmed a quorum. The hearing was set to satisfy the district’s truth-in-taxation publication requirements based on the certified estimate of taxable value of property.
"Motion made by Daniele Clark to approve a Public Hearing for Monday, August 25 at 6:30pm," the minutes state. The minutes do not specify the proposed tax rate or the certified taxable value; those figures are expected to be included in the formal hearing notice and supporting budget documents.
The board’s action was procedural: it schedules the public forum at which district officials will present budget and tax-rate proposals and accept public comment. The meeting minutes list Dr. Heidi Ritthaler as absent. The public hearing will be the next formal chance for residents to comment before the board considers adopting a budget or tax rate.
