Council approves MFT appropriation, service truck and other equipment purchases

At the June meetings the council approved several municipal purchases and funding actions. On June 1 the council adopted a resolution appropriating $515,000 of Motor Fuel Tax (MFT) funds for street maintenance and later approved the purchase of a 2026 Chevrolet 3500 service truck.
The council also authorized annual subscription renewal of the Lexipol law-enforcement manual and training bulletins and approved the purchase of bulletproof vests for the police department; Chief Curran said the vests will be half reimbursed through a vest grant. On June 15 the council authorized purchasing a new parks mower with a not-to-exceed amount of $17,000 after staff reported the 2018 mower required major repairs.
Votes on routine bill approvals and individual purchase resolutions were recorded in the minutes. The MFT appropriation and vehicle purchase were adopted unanimously during the June 1 meeting; the mower purchase was approved unanimously at the June 15 meeting. City staff will proceed with procurement steps and grant-application follow-up where reimbursement is available.
