Spring Valley council adopts FY2026–27 appropriation ordinance after public hearing

The Spring Valley City Council adopted the city's FY2026–27 appropriation ordinance (Ord. 1941) at its July 20 meeting following a public hearing at which no members of the public spoke.
Mayor Malooley-Thompson opened the hearing and noted the tentative appropriation had been published and was available in the city clerk's office for review. The council approved the ordinance by motion #15436 (moved by Alderman Chris Affelt, seconded by Alderman Ed Jauch) on an 8-0 vote.
The hearing notice was published in the Bureau County Republican and the mayor said the matter had been included in the council packet prior to the meeting. No substantive amendments or public questions were recorded during the hearing. The ordinance will govern the city's fiscal disbursements for the year beginning May 1, 2026 and ending April 30, 2027.
