Councilor Tim Barrett told the Planning Commission that the City Council voted 3–1 with one recusal to proceed with paving the bike path across Hubbard Park and to build an 18-car parking lot with accessible spaces and pedestrian-style lighting.
Barrett described the project as part of the North–South bike connector that will link Nolan Farm Road to Southpointe and Market Street. He said the winning bid was in place and construction is expected to begin in late spring.
Commissioners thanked Barrett for the update and noted the project will improve non-motorized connectivity through the Hubbard Park corridor.
