Bensenville approves special-use permit for auto cosmetic-repair shop at 1081 Entry Drive

The Village Board voted June 16 to approve an ordinance allowing a motor-vehicle repair and service use at 1081 Entry Drive subject to conditions set by the Community Development Commission and village staff.
Staff summarized that the proposed business would specialize in cosmetic automotive paint repair and "smart repairs" (small- to medium-area repair techniques), operate entirely within the tenant space, and offer paintless dent, bumper and wheel repair. Staff said painting and mixing operations will occur in a prep station compliant with EPA and NESHAP requirements. Conditions of approval include no outdoor vehicle storage, prohibition of engine/mechanical repairs and oil changes, required sprinkler installation, and a limit to passenger vehicles with no more than two axles.
After staff recommendation and a board roll-call, trustees voted to approve the ordinance. The approval follows a Community Development Commission public hearing and its recommendation to approve the special-use permit subject to the conditions the board adopted.
