Village staff told the board June 16 that the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) granted the village its Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for the annual comprehensive financial report for the fiscal year ending Dec. 31, 2024.
"Back on May 19, the village received notice from the Government Finance Officers Association, which is known as the GFOA, that, our annual comprehensive report for fiscal year ending 12/31/2024 qualifies for the GFOA certificate of achievement for excellence in financial reporting," a staff member said during the presentation. Village manager Dan Schultz and finance director Lisa Banovich were presented with the recognition.
The board offered brief congratulations during the meeting; no formal action was required beyond the presentation. The award is typically given to governments that meet high standards of financial reporting, and staff noted it represents a significant accomplishment for the village's accounting and financial reporting practices.
