Staff reports Hawk pedestrian signal, ATP Cycle 5 work nearing completion

City staff reported progress on several projects and invited participation in community events. Staff said the ATP Cycle 5 complete-streets improvements are nearing completion and that a Hawk pedestrian signal at Veterans Park is expected to be installed and operational within the next two weeks.
Staff also reported a setback on the Garfield Eastern project after a contractor struck an unmarked Edison line; staff said they are coordinating with Edison to restore the work schedule. Staff noted the HSIP Cycle 11 improvements at Eastern are underway and invited residents to National Night Out at Veterans Park, which was ongoing until 8 p.m.
“We're we're excited to finally, bring this to fruition and, bring that project to a close,” staff said about ATP Cycle 5. Staff emphasized continued work across multiple projects and coordination with utility providers on the Edison line issue.
