Public Works Director Perry clarified the contract covers design and peer review only and does not authorize construction or implementation work. "So, essentially, we're finalizing the actual striping plan that's going into the LIP," Perry said, adding the consultant will also help ensure ADA transition and provide stamped letters or peer‑review documentation as needed.
Council members asked for clarity that the contract was limited to engineering work and noted public sensitivity to changes in street speed and lane configurations. After brief discussion, the council moved and approved the contract by voice vote.
