A committee member moved that the joint committees go into closed session under Wisconsin Statute 19.85(1)(e) "for the purpose of conducting a specific public business when competitive or bargaining reasons require a closed session" to discuss strategy related to negotiating a contract for the River Drive property RFP and the divestment of the Thomas Street property.
The chair asked for a second and the motion was seconded. The clerk called the roll for the finance committee and recorded 'Aye' votes in sequence for named supervisors while noting that two members — Watson and Jeong — were absent for the finance committee call. The extension, education and economic development committee repeated a roll call with affirmative votes and one excused absence reported. The motion carried and the committee prepared to move into closed session to discuss negotiation strategy and bargaining positions.
