During the Oct. 21 meeting the Nederland ISD Board approved routine business items on the consent agenda, which included minutes, payment of bills, donations and budget-change requests. Business Manager Melissa Wong read the monthly donations and budget-change reports; total donations for September were reported as $23,095. The consent agenda motion (Ms. DeCuir moved; Ms. Isom seconded) passed by a 6–0 vote.
The board accepted a Little Dribblers donation of $41,410 for automated height adjusters, new backboards, breakaway rims and nets for the C.O. Wilson and Central Middle gyms (Ms. Mitchell moved; Ms. Scott seconded; vote 6–0). Trustees also approved two purchases over $50,000: Omni Filtration preventive maintenance of air filters for $73,328.92 and Samaritan Counseling services for $50,220 (Mr. Albanese moved; Ms. Mitchell seconded; vote 6–0). The board adopted the annual investment resolution and approved the 2024 Tax Roll Grand Recap by unanimous votes. The minutes record motions and roll-call results for each item.
