Assistant Superintendent Bill Jardell explained Weld Test Coupons, LLC donated pipe coupons for the NHS welding program and Port City Sabine Holdings donated concrete for the foundation of an indoor all-weather batting cage for Nederland High School.
The board delegated authority to the superintendent to coordinate construction of the batting cage foundation and accepted the material donation for the welding program. In discussion, Trustee Kay DeCuir asked Jardell to explain what a "pipe coupon" is; Jardell said it is metal grooved so it can be welded to another piece of metal.
