Representatives from Bartlett Cocke General Contractors informed trustees that Bid Package 1 for the new high school athletic complex — including bleachers, grandstands and the press box — contains items with extended lead times requiring early procurement.
Board members were told that sub-bids for Bid Package 1 are expected in mid-January and that two additional bid packages will follow, with a final Guaranteed Maximum Price presentation scheduled for April 2025. Trustees approved authorization to proceed with procurement for Bid Package 1 as part of consent items.
The procurement timing is intended to align long-lead equipment delivery with the construction schedule so site and building work can proceed without equipment delays.
