Faith Ridge Christian School takes ownership of former UW Washington County campus, county executive says

Washington County Executive Josh Schoeman announced that Faith Ridge Christian School has taken ownership of the former University of Wisconsin Washington County campus in West Bend and said the county welcomes the school's continued public access to the facility. "They now officially own it," Schoeman said, speaking from the site.

Schoeman described the transition as the culmination of months of community conversation and public input, and thanked Faith Ridge and residents who participated in the meetings. He said the county held a large public meeting in the campus gym where "hundreds of people" provided feedback on the site's future. Schoeman also named the Cedar Lake Conservation Foundation as a partner for future work on nearby properties and noted that the adjacent Kettle Moraine and city park amenities will remain accessible to the community.

Schoeman framed the sale as preserving local access to a long‑used campus after the University of Wisconsin system decided to close some two‑year campuses across the state. He said keeping the building in active use — here by an established Christian school — will help maintain services and opportunities for students and families in Washington County.
