City clerk outlines vendor permits, food-service rules for Monte Sereno picnic

City staff told the Monte Sereno Youth Commission on Aug. 12 that the city picnic must use licensed food vendors and comply with county health permitting. "We now are required to pull permits from Vasona Lake County Park and the county's food health," the clerk said, explaining that the event has grown and the city procures licensed vendors rather than allowing open, uncovered serving.
Staff described how the logistics have evolved as attendance increased and said the city will coordinate catering, equipment rental and outreach. The clerk said staff can provide a canopy, table, chairs and the commission's banner for the booth and that the commission should coordinate which activities it wants to run so staff can finalize purchases and permits.
