Brightwaters approves $4,318.50 traffic study as village installs 25 mph limit

A trustee reported the village is "in the middle of installing the 25 mile per hour speed limit setup in the village" and that a traffic study will be conducted at the end of April. The board then approved a motion to pay GPI $4,318.50 for crash and collision analysis and traffic collection related to that investigation.
During public comment residents raised multiple practical suggestions — larger pedestrian signage, raised crosswalks, pylons or planters to prevent parking in crosswalks, and, in the longer term, traffic circles — and urged the board to press for tangible recommendations rather than a perfunctory report. Board members said they paid for a $20,000 study and expect GPI to provide actionable measures when the study is completed.
