The board approved two out-of-state field trips submitted shortly before the meeting.
Superintendent (S2) presented an overnight environmental education trip for 42 grade 33 students to the Cincinnati Zoo and environmental center on Sept. 34; staff said the high ability grant usually covers such trips and estimated the cost would be at most $96 per student, with scholarships available for students who cannot afford the fee. S2 also presented a volleyball camp trip to Indiana University in Bloomington for 25 students (July 17—9) where the stated cost is $420 per student; coaches plan to fundraise individually to offset costs.
Board members asked procedural questions about timing and approvals; motions to approve both trips passed by voice vote.
