Ms. Virgo (S3) said the district has partnered with Centerstone for several years to provide family support specialists in buildings and described positive feedback about additional social-emotional supports for students. She said that investing Title 4 funds would allow Centerstone staff more flexibility to serve beyond a limited caseload and to attend meetings and PLCs. A motion to approve the MOU was made and passed without recorded opposition.
Board members asked about staffing and caseload; presenters said the model is generally one family support specialist per building with sharing between buildings when staffing shortages occur.
