The Highland Falls Village Board opened a due-process hearing for a property at 60 Center/Schneider/Steiner Avenue that had failed to remedy code violations (high grass and related maintenance issues). No owner appeared; the board closed the public hearing and voted to instruct the building department to remedy the condition and place the charge on the property tax roll if the owner does not pay.
A trustee clarified the record to show the hearing was noticed and closed with no appearance. The motion to send the matter to the building department passed by voice vote after a second. Trustees said standard procedures would be followed, including notice to the owner and an accounting of remediation costs.
