Mayor Joe and other trustees described regular meetings with FEMA and the village engineer and said that while FEMA may have paused some disbursements nationwide temporarily, the village has been providing documents for audits. A trustee summarized FEMA's status: "So far FEMA has given us 1,880,000 out of the 36,500,000 that we're asking," and emphasized the investigation that began May 26. Trustees said they would continue to cooperate with FEMA and provide clearer information to the public as available.
