Board opens public hearing on annexing two Lincoln Avenue parcels for duplex development

Town staff presented a second annexation request on Lincoln Avenue for two parcels the staff said will be developed as duplexes. The presentation noted the lots lie adjacent to 10 lots annexed previously on Lincoln Avenue, that water is available nearby and a fire hydrant sits at the corner of the property, and that sewer flows to an outfall at Grants Creek.
Staff urged approval of the annexation and said the water main situation that delayed earlier lots was not a barrier for these two parcels because of their proximity to the existing hydrant and mains. The mayor opened the public hearing; no members of the public signed up to speak and a board member moved to close the hearing. The board closed the hearing by voice vote; the annexation ordinance will be considered at a future meeting.
