Residents press Highland Falls board for study, funding to fix Highland Brook

Mayor Joe described ongoing coordination with state and federal authorities and West Point, said his engineer estimates that a large portion of runoff enters the brook from outside the village, and repeated a prior estimate that cleaning the brook had been pegged near "$40,000,000." He said the village is pursuing culvert mapping with DOT and looking for creative, multi-party funding to address the problem. "We're going to get hit again," he warned, emphasizing the urgency of joint solutions.
