At the July 28 meeting the council adopted a resolution appointing election officers for the main election on August 25 and a potential runoff on September 22, and authorized the use of 20 DS200 vote-counting machines.
City Clerk Jennifer Smith announced absentee-ballot application deadlines (mail applications must be received by Tuesday, August 18; the in-person application deadline is Thursday, August 20) and reminded residents that the voter-registration deadline is August 10. Clerk Smith also listed polling locations by council district and summarized the nine statutory reasons for absentee ballots under state law 17-11-3.
