Silken Kirschner, project manager for transportation and open spaces, briefed the board on proposed stormwater, parking and erosion-control improvements at Red Rocks Park. The work would resurface the parking areas, add stormwater treatment for redevelopment and create a shared-use path and shoreline stabilization to address repeated erosion at the beach access.
Local resident Lisa Yankowski said the projects are "very, very needed" and called the proposed walkway a safety improvement for people who now walk in the middle of the road. Staff told the board there is a letter from the floodplain manager and state concurrence with the wetland delineation; staff confirmed the design meets the city's floodplain standards. The board closed the hearing and will deliberate before issuing a final decision.
