Ashley Hay, the county asset manager for the arena and event center, reviewed summer programming and recent special events. She said the Magic City Mustangs car show and other activities went well and that bookings pick up in September, including a rodeo on September 4–5.
Hay proposed testing a $30 month‑to‑month membership for facility users to complement the current $10 day pass and $100 annual pass structure.
"I wanted to, try that out at $30 a month," Hay said, noting she did not want a monthly price so close to the annual pass that it would discourage year‑long commitments. She also reported that RV pedestal electrical work came back higher than anticipated, and staff are evaluating buying pedestals directly and seeking competitive electrician quotes to stay within available grant funds.
Commissioners asked staff to gather quotes and to consider vendors who previously supplied pedestals to the county; Hay said staff will return with revised cost estimates and vendor options.
