Dr. Montgomery and district staff updated the board on academic and policy initiatives, saying the Illinois IAR summative state assessment results and the state report card will be released Oct. 30. Renee said the district will present full report‑card details at the November board meeting.
"We will be sharing this report at the November board meeting," Renee said, noting the state revised some proficiency cut scores after an 18-month review. District staff emphasized growth and said they are cautiously optimistic about the upcoming release.
Renee also described professional development plans including five days of Kagan training for teacher leaders (25 educators participating in a train‑the‑trainer model) and an upcoming technology working group of 12 community members that will review a K–4 device policy and a draft AI policy currently under development. The working group will collect feedback on classroom uses and safeguards before the board considers any policy change.
