District administrators described a family-partnerships series delivered this year in collaboration with Bloom of Gloucester and said recorded Zoom sessions will be repurposed for parents and staff training.
"So this year, we partnered with Bloom, that is based in Gloucester, and they are an amazing resource for us," the principal said, explaining that Bloom helped recruit speakers and that Zoom allowed the district to access national presenters. Administrators noted the Beyond the Screen event drew about 20 people in person, the vaping/drugs/alcohol session has been recorded for redistribution and a recent workshop on raising confident, resilient children produced materials the district plans to reuse.
Officials said they piloted a parent focus group to learn what families want and discussed experimenting with different venues — including library locations and more social formats such as potlucks — to make sessions more welcoming and to increase attendance. The committee encouraged continuing the series and suggested linking recordings and highlights to the district newsletter to broaden community reach.
