Council on Aging reports rising participation, new wheelchair-accessible van

At its June 4 meeting the Ashland Council on Aging approved the directors report after hearing that participation in programs is up and that roughly 25 new participants joined recent activities. Candi Wilson (Director) reported the reopening of the food pantry, a successful Memory Cafe9 with assisted-living partners, and upcoming events including a Free Jazz Concert (June 4) and a Wheel of Fortune event (June 9).
Wilson also described transportation improvements: the council now has a wheelchair-accessible van serving five passengers and is offering free transportation; she noted that trip liability waivers will be required for participants. The motion to approve the Directors Report was moved by Eve Aseltine, seconded by Alexis Christopher, and approved 5—6.
