Troy McClendon, PISD Director of Facilities, presented a facilities update that included a schedule of planned roof replacements and other capital work. McClendon said roof replacement at Austin and Travis will begin on March 31, Lamar Elementary on April 16 and Pampa Junior High School on April 21; track repair or replacement at PHS will begin April 14. He reported that a PHS retaining wall repair will be covered by contingency funds and that PHS demolition remains on schedule and within budget. McClendon is serving as the district's Integrated Pest Management coordinator and noted the Texas Agriculture Department will conduct an audit in the near future.
The director said bids for PHS roofing will be issued next month and that the walk-in freezer/cooler repair at an unspecified site was expected to be completed by the end of the week. He also discussed exploring a professional facilities review to inform a long-range plan and noted ongoing collaboration to develop solutions for the Austin Elementary bus lane and parking lot. The board expressed support for gathering information about a professional facility study. (Provenance: SEG 028–SEG 032.)
