Audit at Pampa Junior High finds one exterior door unlocked; district moves to disable locks and retrain staff

Staff received retraining on March 8, 2025 on mandatory policies that classroom doors remain closed and locked and that exterior doors remain locked except for the main entrance.
As corrective steps, Smith said the district disabled the lock mechanism on exterior doors #9 and #10 to prevent them from being unlocked, increased the frequency of door checks by administration, and noted substitutes are retrained on arrival.
