Trustee Luis Nava requested the calendar be pulled from the consent agenda for discussion and said he was concerned the additional February days in Drafts #2 and #3 could disrupt student testing schedules.
District staff told trustees the Communications Committee and the DLT Committee recommended Draft #1, which is a more traditional calendar and does not include the additional February days. Mr. Piatt reported he had received multiple staff concerns about Drafts #2 and #3 and affirmed the committees' recommendation. Trustee Luis Nava moved to approve Draft #1; Dr. David Godino seconded the motion, which the minutes record as carrying unanimously with seven votes.
Board members did not request additional public hearings on the calendar. The approved calendar will guide the district's instructional and testing schedules for the 2025'26 school year.
