Olton ISD board certifies two unopposed candidates and cancels May 3 election

At the March 31 meeting the Olton ISD Board certified that two incumbents were unopposed in the regular election called for May 3, 2025, and then voted to cancel the election and declare the candidates elected.
Jesus DeLaCruz moved to certify that Tullie Struve and Dale Falcon were the only qualified candidates for the two seats; Alicia Sanchez seconded and the motion carried 7-0-0. Brent Burns then moved to cancel the May 3 election and certify that those two candidates had been elected to new three‑year terms; Chris Ruiz seconded and the motion carried 7-0-0.
The actions were recorded in the minutes as motions that carried without recorded opposition. The minutes do not show any public comment or challenge to the certification or cancellation.
