The motion was moved by Commissioner Bill Sarkella and supported by Commissioner Roger Ballard.
The board also authorized a dual‑purpose K‑9 and handler training for the drug task force from Shallow Creek Kennels for $17,600, funded by the drug task force military support, and approved installation of vinyl and chain‑link fencing at the animal control building (vendor quotes of $15,892 and $6,875 respectively), with total fencing and gates not to exceed $25,000 and funding from ARPA. Commissioners emphasized cost savings work from the buildings and grounds committee on the fence procurement.
All items were approved on voice votes with no recorded dissents.
