Duke Energy administrative amendment raises particulate emission factor for two units; board approves update

"Their factor did go up, from was it 6 pounds per hour to 10 pounds per hour roughly?" James said, describing how the updated emission factor will raise the calculated particulate emissions for those units and could modestly increase tonnage fees, though the base permit fee will not change. He said the units remain below the facility cap (roughly 70 tons versus a cap near 95 tons) and that staff expect the administrative amendment will change accounting but not trigger a fundamental permit redesign.
The board moved to approve the administrative amendment and the related facility permit renewal; the motions were seconded and approved by voice vote.
