The Port Aransas Independent School District Board of Trustees voted to adopt a property tax rate of $0.738921 for 2024–25 — an effective 1.35% increase — at their Aug. 28 special meeting.
Kristi Littleton moved, seconded by Cherrie Stunz, that "the property tax rate be increased by the adoption of a tax rate of $0.738921, which is effectively a 1.35% percent increase in the tax rate." The motion passed on a roll-call vote, 6–0. The record allocates $0.6669 per $100 of valuation to the General Fund and $0.0738921 per $100 to the Debt Service Fund.
Board President Daniel Johnson announced the yes votes by roll call: Johnson, Stunz, Littleton, Pate, Stawar and Mills. The adoption finalizes the district’s tax rate for 2024–25 and sets revenue expectations tied to the previously accepted certified appraisal roll.
