The Port Aransas Independent School District Board of Trustees voted to approve the recommended amounts for Committed Funds and delegated authority to the superintendent to establish Assigned Funds during its Aug. 28 special meeting.
Marnie Pate moved, seconded by Kristi Littleton, to approve the superintendent’s recommendations on Committed Funds and to delegate authority for Assigned Funds to the superintendent. "The board approved the motion; motion carried unanimously," according to the meeting record. This action allows district leadership to finalize internal fund assignments within the parameters the board approved.
The delegation aims to give the superintendent flexibility to set Assigned Funds for operational needs before the fiscal year begins; the record shows unanimous board support.
