NISD celebrates band achievement, SkillsUSA qualifiers and approves new NHS courses for 2025–26

The board recognized musical and SkillsUSA student achievements and approved the 2025–2026 Nacogdoches High School course catalog, which adds courses including Music Studies, Construction Technology I & II and Medical Terminology.
Board members and administration recognized recent student accomplishments. Les Linebarger introduced Nacogdoches High School Band Director Jacob Weems and noted the NHS marching band finished sixth in the UIL State Military Marching Contest at Baylor University. Les Linebarger also recognized teacher Jan Holland and students Cierra Runnels and Haley Sanchez for qualifying for the SkillsUSA National Leadership Academy.
Separately, the Board approved the 2025–2026 Nacogdoches High School course guide, adding courses such as Music Studies; Construction Technology I & II; Practicum of Construction Technology; Practicum in STEM; Fundamentals of Real Estate; Medical Terminology; and several practicum courses in health science and EMS. These course approvals were included in the consent agenda and passed 4–0.
