The Mary M. Knight School District Board of Directors approved a series of district policies and completed routine business at its regular meeting on Sept. 25, 2024.
Board members voted to adopt policy 2410/2410P on high school graduation requirements and approved several procedural and conduct-related policies, including 3205P.1/3205P.2 (sex discrimination/sex-based harassment procedures), 3211P (Gender Inclusive Schools), 3246/3246P (restraint, isolation and other uses of reasonable force), 3432 (emergencies), 5011/5011P (sex discrimination and sex-based harassment of district staff) and 6220/6220P (bid or request for proposal). Each motion was moved and seconded on the record, and the minutes record the outcome as "all in favor, motion carried." The Superintendent presented a monthly report that included the graduation requirement item.
The meeting record lists present directors Jill Edgin, Cynthia Brehmeyer, Alexander Ushman, Jake Goldy and Kayla Mali and Superintendent Matthew Mallery. Motions were moved most often by Alexander Ushman and seconded by different board members, and the minutes consistently record unanimous approval. No dissenting votes, abstentions or recusals are recorded in the minutes.
