Dr. Jesse Bryson, identifying himself to the board as CEO of STEMCAT (DBA I Will Ministry Foundation), described plans to develop a 20,000 square foot workforce center on MLK that he said will target both youth and adults in parts of the city he called a health‑care desert.
Bryson said the center will house telehealth services, phlebotomy and medical‑data training, culinary arts and an event space, and he emphasized partnerships with FGCU for digital micro‑certification and with the state Board of Education for apprenticeship pathways. “We are in the process of building a 20,000 square foot, workforce center,” he said, adding that the project aims to connect training directly with local employers and create events to draw younger adults to the community.
Board members encouraged Bryson to supply contact information for distribution to the board and staff and noted city support for feasibility and permitting steps; no formal city funding decision was recorded at the meeting.
