The Natalia Independent School District Board of Trustees on Dec. 9, 2024, approved updated Board Operating Procedures after returning from a closed session. Eric Smith, the board president, moved to approve the procedures and Gordon Gentry, the board secretary, seconded; the motion passed 6-0.
The vote followed a closed session that began at 6:39 p.m. and ended at 9:46 p.m. Pursuant to Texas Government Code sections 551.074 and 551.071, the board conducted team-building discussions concerning the duties, roles and responsibilities of the Board and the Superintendent and consulted with its attorney on related legal issues. Tiffany Brown (Vice President) left the meeting at 9:42 p.m. and was recorded as absent for the final vote.
Board records in the transcript list Eric Smith as Board President and Gordon Gentry as Board Secretary; Fernando Garza, Paul Almendarez, Danielle Alderete and Tracy Myers were also recorded as present and voted in favor. The meeting was adjourned at 9:46 p.m.
