The regular meeting reconvened at 9:20 a.m., and Chairman Charles Coffey publicly stated "the subjects discussed during the closed meetings were within the legal exceptions to the open meetings law and that no votes were cast within the session." The meeting minutes and an accompanying affidavit record items invoked under O.C.G.A. exceptions and certify the closed-session attendance and topics.
The affidavit included in the meeting packet lists the statutory authorities cited during the closed session including O.C.G.A. § 50‑14‑2 (exceptions), O.C.G.A. § 50‑14‑3 (executive session conduct) and the county's internal recordkeeping for minutes that will be held in camera for inspection. The minutes show the board returned to open session promptly and took no formal action while in executive session.
