The Chattahoochee County Board of Commissioners on March 4 approved a Right‑of‑Way Mowing & Maintenance Agreement with the Georgia Department of Transportation covering project PI 0015687, a single‑lane roundabout to be built at the intersection of State Route 1/State Route 520 and County Road 109/Wells Street. The motion to approve the agreement was made by Commissioner Damon Hoyte and seconded by Commissioner Gerald Douglas; the vote was unanimous.
The GDOT package included a letter and a detailed Exhibit A that assigns maintenance duties to the local government for the landscaping, watering, pruning, mowing, pesticide/herbicide application and ADA‑compliant sidewalk repairs around the roundabout. The agreement grants the county the right to perform maintenance for a term of 50 years and requires adherence to the Federal Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices for any temporary traffic control. The GDOT letter lists Tahirah Slaughter as the department project manager for questions, and Kimberly W. Nesbitt as the State Program Delivery Administrator who signed the transmittal to the county. "Enclosed is a Right‑of‑Way Mowing & Maintenance Agreement detailing maintenance commitments for the proposed landscaping and sidewalk on the above reference project," GDOT wrote in correspondence to Chairman Coffey.
