Premont ISD board reorders agenda, hears annual audit and approves it under consent agenda

Board President Irma M. Johnson called the Dec. 16 meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. and noted that "let the record show that a quorum of board members is present" and that notice was posted under the Texas Open Meetings Act. The Board agreed to reorder the agenda so the Annual Audit Report for the year ended Aug. 31, 2024, would be heard earlier after a motion by Emma V. Falcon and a second by Chris Morales.
Ernest R. Garza of Ernest R. Garza and Company, CPA presented the Annual Audit Report for the year ended Aug. 31, 2024. Later in the meeting the Board approved the Annual Audit Report as part of the consent agenda: Chris Morales moved to approve consent items 4.B (Annual Audit Report), 4.C (budget amendment/designated fund balance) and 4.D (donations); Irma M. Johnson seconded and the motion carried unanimously among members present. The minutes record that the approval excluded item 4.A (Approval of Minutes) after discussion.
