The Premont Independent School District Board of Trustees unanimously adopted a new district vision at its Jan. 23, 2025, regular meeting.
Trustee Emma V. Falcon moved to adopt the vision as presented: “Fostering a community of excellence, high standards, and limitless student opportunities.” Trustee Ruben Martinez seconded the motion, and the board voted unanimously in favor. Board President Irma M. Johnson called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. and confirmed a quorum.
The new vision will serve as the district’s guiding statement for strategic planning and campus priorities; trustees discussed the vision during the Lone Star Governance portion of the agenda. The adoption was recorded in the minutes as routine governance business. The board then moved to other governance items, including adoption of a Theory of Action and approval of progress-monitoring reports.
The trustee vote was recorded as unanimous in the meeting minutes; no dissenting votes were noted.
