Belva Dorsey‑Mott, representing Enrichment Services, and Sabrina Stephens, the local school‑board representative, described training programs (EMT, CDL, CNA) and requested future county support and outreach. County Manager Thomas Weaver gave multiple public‑works and water system updates, noting a possible lightning strike to well #3, well #4 offline with well #1 covering demand, a recent Trotters Ridge leak repair, and that public works installed library benches and is training new staff.
Weaver told commissioners the county had received a pickup of donated dog food and a $1,700 grant earmarked for microchipping (to cover animals in Fort Benning and the county). He also said staff recommends a $2.00 monthly increase in the trash rate (raising the current $20 monthly fee to $22) to cover rising solid‑waste costs; that potential rate change will be placed on a future agenda. Planning staff presented draft changes to conditional‑use permit procedures (items to be reviewed further by the county attorney).
