The Board of Assessors notified the commission that it corrected an error on parcel C05 0001 (116 Angelia Drive). The assessor's correction lowered the parcel valuation from $52,831 to $49,068 and produced a total refund of $38.38 for 2023. The commission approved the refund during its April 1 meeting; minutes record the county portion of the 2023 refund as $12.31.
In a letter to commissioners the Board of Assessors explained the adjustment was made because a deleted utility building had been assigned to the wrong parcel and the valuation was corrected pursuant to O.C.G.A. 48‑5‑303. Jim Wiehe, chairman of the Board of Assessors, certified the correction and thanked the commission for its assistance in the matter. The commission moved and seconded the refund motion and voted unanimously to approve the refund.
