Commission puts Friendship Road resurfacing out to bid; Riverbend potholes to be addressed

The Unified Government authorized Friendship Road to be advertised for bids at its June 3 meeting. The manager said the project bid package will include one coat, striping and resurfacing; bids are expected late July with a likely award in August.
Commissioners also raised concerns about potholes on Riverbend Road and a deteriorating spot on Liberty Hill Road. Commissioner Timothy Biddle reported constituent calls about potholes and directed public works to examine temporary repairs and develop a plan until funding or scheduled resurfacing is available. "The bid will include one coat, striping, and resurface," County Manager Thomas Weaver told the commission.
