The Unified Government of Cusseta-Chattahoochee County adopted its fiscal year 2025–26 operating and capital budget on June 3, 2025, covering the period July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026. The commission approved the budget resolution after two public hearings earlier in April and a work-session review.
Commissioners asked staff to finalize revisions to several income-line items and discussed raising the millage rate by 1–2 mils as part of revenue adjustments. County Manager Thomas Weaver presented the budget resolution and the commission voted unanimously to approve it. The DFCS letter included in the meeting packet noted the county had allocated $4,650 for county DFCS activities in FY 2026; Danielle Wiggins, Chattahoochee DFCS County Director, outlined reimbursement procedures in a May 21 letter to the county.
"The operating and capital project budget for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2025 and ending June 30, 2026 ... is approved and adopted," the commission's budget resolution states. The commission directed staff to return any changed income lines for finalization and to report back on recommended millage adjustments before formal tax-rate adoption.
