At the Jan. 6 meeting the Environmental Advisory Board unanimously approved a motion recommending that the city's monitoring and trend reports for Manual Branch be provided to City Council on a quarterly basis. The motion was presented during discussion about differences between city sampling and independent groups' results and the need for easier public access to monitoring data.
The board's motion asked staff to prepare a quarterly package of monitoring results and provide it to the council liaison; the board noted that the data are publicly available but not always readily discoverable. Chair Hempelman made the motion and it was seconded and approved by unanimous consent with one member absent. Staff said they will work to make updated data available through the city's water-quality dashboard and consider communications outreach.
