Ryan demonstrated how the city used Placer AI geofencing to measure attendance at the amphitheater and reported 589 people were present for the Aug. 15 concert, with an average dwell time of roughly 79–80 minutes. "For this... we had 589 people at the concert," Ryan said, and explained the tool only counts devices present for ten minutes or longer.
Board members discussed future uses for the data, including sponsorships and vendor recruitment for events such as the Outlaw Music Festival and the Jesse James Festival. Some members noted privacy considerations around device-based geofencing, but the board generally viewed the analytics as a useful planning and economic-development tool.
